Presented here are three generations of the Blue Gemini. It is based on a real-world Air Force project from the 1960s. It started when I wanted a spaceship for my Space Command game, but it turned into an art project. It also came to be due to mistakes I had made with the YF-19 Saber. Generation 1 was the best I could do in trueSpace. Generation 2 was built when I had issues importing the Appaloosa Upper Stage into 3DS MAX, but I could bring in the command module. Unfortunately, the blue command module didn’t render well. As you can see in this shot, I solved the import problem, but I still didn’t like how the command module turned out. Generation 3 is the culmination of my current abilities in 3DS MAX. It has better detailing and lore-wise, it combines the best of Gemini, Apollo, and Shuttle.
